Back in 2018 when I seriously began looking into Blockchain tech for development (and started the Crypto Susu and Coffee Coin projects), one alt-coin became of particular interest to me: Cardano. My main interest has always been how to use blockchain technology to build interesting applications. Ironically Cardano had the downside of being particularly useless at the time. The developers appeared to be taking a snail’s pace at rolling out the platform and smart contract functionality wasn’t event to be implemented for years potentially (whereas I could create Ethereum-based smart contracts already.
So I filed Cardano away into my mental “that’s nice but let’s come back to it later” category. Well, it’s 2021 and we’re effectively at “Later”. I’m going to have more to say about why I like Cardano. But as a first post, I’m providing the YouTube video that first introduced me to it. I think it still gives the best overview of the platform.
